I Say...

Gee ha!! My trip to Bantayan island last February 02, 2008 was one of the longest (approx 4 hours or so)... I was like .. Okey! This clearly defines the word "FAR". Though we managed to get an aircon bus for the trip, sitting for such long dreadful hours gives me aches. All I wanted for such a long bus ride was to at least get a few hours of sleep to kill time. Unfortunately Im out of luck.. We arrived the port of Hagnaya at around 11 am, so damn hot and I sweat a river.. I was like "Ewww" looking at my white wet tissue turned almost black. Yay! Hahaha!... We took the ferry to take us to Bantayan.. The Korean people has dominated the place already.. Noisy!!! .

At 12:00 pm, we arrived at the Bantayan Island. We were welcomed by the beautiful beach and crystal clear water of Bantayan Island. Hallelujah!!! So the long travel hours is worth it. As I set foot into the Island, I couldnt help myself to be excited about taking pictures that is waiting to be taken... I loved how small the island that you could go around the barrio just by walking. We stayed at Sugar Beach that has long stretch of pristine white sand.. (Perfect if meron kang partner with you.. Grr!).. We also visited the Ogtong Cave, where we stayed for the whole afternoon of Saturday since it is too hot to get outside. Camiguin Escapades

I Say...

Whew! Its been a while since I had my last post.. Gee I've been busy and lazy to do some latest cho cho's of my life.. Posting some stuff here and there takes a lot of time and effort for me .. You see I'm not like Vatski and Nurse Ruff - who both have skills in writing stuff... Sighs! Well lets not talk about that... So what's interesting?! Hmm Guess what?! Tantadadadaaa!!!.... Its my birthday!!! (October 08!Pooot!) and I just came back from Camiguin Trip... I really enjoyed the 2-day trip we had last weekend and its worth the fare, hassle and the travel here and there.. I had great time without thinking that my job and my recent addiction is killing me.. Snorkeling, Sight seeing, eating, boy watching and of course picture2x.. [Note: All images on this post taken by yours truly via camera phone. Hehe]

We arrived in Camiguin at around 9am. At that time, my queer nature strikes again and I was hoping we will have a cute tour guide. Unfortunately.. Nope!, you know what I mean... Grrrr!!!.... Our tour guide fetches us with a Welcome banner (Gee ha!)... and I was amazed by the place.. Rich vegetation.. Beautiful green sceneries.. Crystal blue waters and no trace of urbanization yet... I was so excited to catch the white sand beaches, natural springs, and waterfalls. Taste and buy their famous ever sweet Lanzones fruit.

Camiguin is a volcanic island with 7 and 4 unnamed strato volcanoes.. One of these is the Mt. Hibok-Hibok, the only active volcano. This island province has the most number of volcanoes in the world. Its volcanic origin is responsible for the beautiful and exciting landscapes: Hot springs, water falls, lush forests, and gorgeous beaches. Camiguin has been dubbed as the Philippine's Garden of Eden.

We travelled smoothly since most of the roads there were cemented. Our first stop is the Sto. Niño Cold Spring and true to its name, the water there was sooo cold like an ice water.. I cant even touch my feet into the water at first.. Though I managed to get use to it but Damn! Still very cold..

We spent our lunch in Sto. Niño with some not-so-affordable dishes.. You get to order cuisines like that of a Sutukil.. You buy them in kilos and then they'll cook it for you.. The food was OK but I like the Tinolang Manok better with Buko juice and Lanzones. :-)

Next stop is the Soda Swimming Pool - Locals said that the water from the pool has mineral-contents from the volcano giving the water a distinct sweet soda-like taste.. We seem not contented with our dip in the Cold spring, so we decided to take a plunge into the Soda waters.. Curious about the Soda thing, we decided to taste the water ourselves and it really did taste like Soda but I didn’t dare drinking the pool-water.

After swimming for about 15 mins in Soda waters. We were like craving for some sweet fruities, so we headed down to a Sitio/Barangay where cheap freshly picked Lanzones can be purchased.. Here Lanzones cost 15 Php per kilo.. Shurrlppp!

After eating some few Lanzones, we continue our journey to Catarman (former capital of Camiguin) Church ruins. The whole building was destroyed when Mt. Vulcan erupted in 1871, what is left today are ruins of walls of the church, bell tower and convent.

The Sunken cemetery, on the other hand, which is just few meters away from the church ruins, has been sunk by the same volcanic eruption. A huge cross was installed to mark the cemetery.. We rented a boat to take us to the site for a closer look.. and ohh btw! This is also one of the places where the movie "Ouija" was filmed.

Lastly, We spent our night at Ardent Hot Spring (35 Php/head), the most popular among Camiguin's hot springs. We dipped into the natural hot pool and it felt good. It is said that Ardent's hot water is therapeutic since it contains Sulphur, which is said to be a medicinal element that may cure some illnesses. We spent the rest of night relaxing and chatting beside the swimming pool of Paras Beach Resort.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness

I Say....

I finally finished PS2's Castlevania COD last night and just kicked Dracula's ass..I really enjoyed killing him along with his horde of undead minions... I rated this game 8 out of 10... Simply becoz I am a vampire stuff fanatic and I like its plot and the Devil Forging stuff in the game. Castlevania series is about a war between the bewitched family of the Belmonts and Dracula. Almost every hundred years, Dracula is resurrected and it is up to the Belmont clan to defeat him before he unleashes his wrath on the entire world (more info here).

In this game, is a new hero - Hector, a former Devil Forgemaster (there are only 2 forgemasters) who betrayed Dracula, disgusted by his master's brutal methods, and gave up his powers in the hopes of having a normal life... He swore revenge on his fellow forgemaster, Isaac, a loyal to Dracula and is responsible for the death of Hector's fiancé, Rosaly, who is accused of witchcraft and was burned to death… The story takes us in the year 1479, three years after Dracula was defeated in the events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse... Hector is seeking revenge after learning that his former ally is to blame for the death of his wife. He chases his former colleague back to Dracula's Castle, and back to the demonic life he believed he left behind.

As a forgemaster, Hector has the ability to forge various weapons and can summon familiars known as ‘Innocent Devils’ who aids him in defeating enemies and solve puzzles within the game.. Unlike its other predecessors, Castlevania: Curse of Darkness doesn't only takes place in Dracula's castle - but in all around Valachia, so you'll venture through swamps, mountains, valleys, temples, and much more.

My fake magazine covers

I Say...

I am fond of having my friends be on the cover of a well known magazine, merely just for fun. One of them is my workmate - Alecka, I downloaded some of her pics in friendster. I managed to put some enhanced colors on her picture, refurbished, healed (editing techinique) some stuff on her face, and layout them like a real magazine (I think!).. Alecka's magazine cover is one of my best so far (Hehehe).. Other magazines that I created are just too plain and simple... and im planning to create more fake magazine covers.

How to be Photogenic 101

Do you dislike having your picture taken because you always seem to come out looking hideous? Have you ever been on a date with someone whose online photo knocked you out but whose appearance in real life turned out to be a bit uninspiring? What’s the deal with pictures? While being photogenic just comes naturally to some people, there are a few things that anyone can do to look better in photos. I Say --- I tried and experienced it, I dont have that flawless skin and have always been so ashamed about my pimple-prone face but lucky for me, I do manage to look nice in pics (I think!! Haha) ...

Tips...

Search yourself in a shot

I tell you I always feel so ugly about a particular stuff on my face, so the thing is, I have look myself in the mirror and find some good expression stuff to conceal the bad stuff. A true way to select an advantageous expression – is to train in front of mirror. Make a point of trying different expressions while looking at the mirror, until you find and master the mimicry, which you consider the best for you, appropriate to your own conception of yourself.

Determine your best angle

"THE" most important!! Beyond the obvious hiding of blemishes, finding the right angle for your face can be a bit more difficult. The best thing you can do is experiment using a digital camera so that you can immediately see the results of each pose. It will very quickly become obvious which angles are most flattering for you, and you can then use that angle as much as possible in the future. The classic model's pose is to arrange your body 3/4 toward the camera with one foot in front of the other and one shoulder closer to the camera than the other.
If you have a flat nose (like most of the Filipinos like me, I confess! Haha).. Try turn sideways and lower your head a little bit and dont pose too straight like in your ID picture... Like I said use the magic mirror..

Hide your blemishes

The bad thing about photographs is that because they are simply frozen images of one angle in an instant in time, they can't show all your good attributes. The good thing about them is that you can easily hide certain features you don’t like. If you've got a unsightly look on one side of your face, for example, don’t show the camera that side. Defects that you noticed in the mirror will be even more obvious on a shot. In professional practice a lot can be corrected with the help of light, but illumination isn’t applied while amateurish photographing, so you need to try looking better by yourself.

Eyebrows frame eyes, so they are especially important. You should comb them, and if they are too thick or meet on a bridge, it’s better to pluck them slightly.

Choice of cloth

Wear clothes with color that suits you.. Color of your cloth can make you shine or, on the contrary, spoil everything. So you need to take care of right tones beforehand. Wearing neutral cloth - polo-neck, jeans jacket or white shirt – you’ll look fresher and younger, than wearing a brocade dress or costume. And bring to minimum quantity of bijouterie – this kills a photo. Warm colors, for example, of red part of spectrum, look advantageous on a color photo.

Stick your neck out

One trick models often use is to present a 3/4 pose to the camera (turn your head so that 3/4 of it is exposed to the camera, as opposed to a full frontal shot) and then lift your neck and slightly tilt your head down, as though you are a turkey sticking its head out (without actually thrusting your chin out). This improves facial definition and helps ameliorate wrinkles and flabby skin.

Relax.

Many people end up looking odd in photos because they freeze into odd facial expressions with a “say cheese" type of smile on their face. If you're used to having bad pictures taken of yourself, you probably get nervous in front of the camera, and this can make things even worse.

Think happy thoughts.

An unnatural, forced smile can make you look stiff and, frankly, weird. When people are smiling and waiting for a photo to be snapped, their facial muscles can get caught in all sorts of strange positions. To remedy this, try to time your smile so that you don't have to hold it for too long. Also, imagine something really funny (don't be afraid to laugh a bit, even) or think of someone—your spouse or child, for example—who makes you happy. By doing so, you’ll get a genuine smile. If you don't like your smile or your teeth, try a more subdued, closed- or partially-closed-mouth smile. Regardless of how you choose to smile, the happier and more relaxed you are, the better.

Smile with your eyes.

Nothing projects happiness and beauty like smiling eyes: a happy, somewhat mischievous expression of the eyes. To achieve this effect, imagine that the camera is a person you have a crush on walking into the room. This will create wider open eyes and a relaxed smile. Chances are you unconsciously do this all the time; the trick is to be able to bring it out on demand, so practice the smiling eyes in front of a mirror.

Edit or enhance photos.

If you've tried everything, but you still can’t seem to get a good picture of yourself, try slightly altering your digital photos. Changing the lighting effects or filter effects, for example, can dramatically improve the appearance of your complexion. There are many photo software available like Adobe and Corel.

Fake it till you make it.

Still dont get the supermodel posse' that you wanted? People are often photogenic because they like having their picture taken. They are therefore relaxed and happy when the camera appears. If you cannot muster up genuine love of the camera, pretend you like the camera. Imagine the camera is someone you love, a long lost friend, a old flame, your child at age three, whatever you need to look at the camera lovingly. Try it—it really does work.
